Munajat of the Rememberers

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the Name of God, the All-Beneficent, the All-Merciful.

إِلَهِي لَوْ لا الْوَاجِبُ مِنْ قَبُولِ أَمْرِكَ لَنَزَّهْتُكَ مِنْ [عَنْ ] ذِكْرِي إِيَّاكَ عَلَى أَنَّ ذِكْرِي لَكَ بِقَدْرِي لا بِقَدْرِكَ وَ مَا عَسَى أَنْ يَبْلُغَ مِقْدَارِي حَتَّى أُجْعَلَ مَحَلا لِتَقْدِيسِكَ وَ مِنْ أَعْظَمِ النِّعَمِ عَلَيْنَا جَرَيَانُ ذِكْرِكَ عَلَى أَلْسِنَتِنَا وَ إِذْنُكَ لَنَا بِدُعَائِكَ وَ تَنْزِيهِكَ وَ تَسْبِيحِكَ إِلَهِي فَأَلْهِمْنَا ذِكْرَكَ فِي الْخَلاءِ وَ الْمَلاءِ وَ اللَّيْلِ وَ النَّهَارِ وَ الْإِعْلانِ وَ الْإِسْرَارِ وَ فِي السَّرَّاءِ وَ الضَّرَّاءِ وَ آنِسْنَا بِالذِّكْرِ الْخَفِيِّ وَ اسْتَعْمِلْنَا بِالْعَمَلِ الزَّكِيِّ وَ السَّعْيِ الْمَرْضِيِّ وَ جَازِنَا بِالْمِيزَانِ الْوَفِيِّ إِلَهِي بِكَ هَامَتِ الْقُلُوبُ الْوَالِهَةُ وَ عَلَى مَعْرِفَتِكَ جُمِعَتِ الْعُقُولُ الْمُتَبَايِنَةُ،

My God, were it not for the duty of accepting Your command, I would hold You far above my remembrance of You, since my remembrance of You is by my measure, not by Your measure. And what could my worth amount to, that I should be made a place for Your sanctification? Among the greatest blessings upon us are Your remembrance flowing on our tongues and Your permission to us to call upon You, to declare You transcendent and to glorify You. My God, so inspire us with Your remembrance in solitude and in company, by night and by day, openly and in secret, in prosperity and in adversity. Make us intimate with the hidden remembrance, employ us in pure deeds and in striving that is pleasing, and repay us with the full measure. My God, in You the love-struck hearts are lost in rapture, and upon knowing You the divergent intellects are united,

فَلا تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ إِلا بِذِكْرَاكَ وَ لا تَسْكُنُ النُّفُوسُ إِلا عِنْدَ رُؤْيَاكَ أَنْتَ الْمُسَبَّحُ فِي كُلِّ مَكَانٍ وَ الْمَعْبُودُ فِي كُلِّ زَمَانٍ وَ الْمَوْجُودُ فِي كُلِّ أَوَانٍ وَ الْمَدْعُوُّ بِكُلِّ لِسَانٍ وَ الْمُعَظَّمُ فِي كُلِّ جَنَانٍ وَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ مِنْ كُلِّ لَذَّةٍ بِغَيْرِ ذِكْرِكَ وَ مِنْ كُلِّ رَاحَةٍ بِغَيْرِ أُنْسِكَ وَ مِنْ كُلِّ سُرُورٍ بِغَيْرِ قُرْبِكَ وَ مِنْ كُلِّ شُغْلٍ بِغَيْرِ طَاعَتِكَ إِلَهِي أَنْتَ قُلْتَ وَ قَوْلُكَ الْحَقُّ يَأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ ذِكْراً كَثِيراً وَ سَبِّحُوهُ بُكْرَةً وَ أَصِيلاً وَ قُلْتَ وَ قَوْلُكَ الْحَقُّ فَاذْكُرُونِي أَذْكُرْكُمْ فَأَمَرْتَنَا بِذِكْرِكَ وَ وَعَدْتَنَا عَلَيْهِ أَنْ تَذْكُرَنَا تَشْرِيفا لَنَا وَ تَفْخِيما وَ إِعْظَاما وَ هَا نَحْنُ ذَاكِرُوكَ كَمَا أَمَرْتَنَا فَأَنْجِزْ لَنَا مَا وَعَدْتَنَا يَا ذَاكِرَ الذَّاكِرِينَ وَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

so hearts find rest only in remembering You, and souls find calm only in seeing You. You are the One glorified in every place, worshipped in every time, present at every moment, called upon in every tongue and magnified in every heart. I seek Your forgiveness for every pleasure without Your remembrance, for every comfort without intimacy with You, for every joy without nearness to You, and for every occupation without obedience to You. My God, You have said, and Your word is the truth: "O you who believe, remember God with much remembrance, and glorify Him morning and evening." And You have said, and Your word is the truth: "So remember Me, and I will remember you." So You commanded us to remember You, and promised us in return that You would remember us, to honour us, to dignify us and to exalt us. And here we are, remembering You as You commanded us, so fulfil for us what You promised us, O Rememberer of those who remember, and O Most Merciful of the merciful.
