Munajat of the Needy

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of God, the All-Beneficent, the All-Merciful.

إِلَهِي كَسْرِي لا يَجْبُرُهُ إِلّا لُطْفُكَ وَ حَنَانُكَ وَ فَقْرِي لا يُغْنِيهِ إِلّا عَطْفُكَ وَ إِحْسَانُكَ وَ رَوْعَتِي لا يُسَكِّنُهَا إِلّا أَمَانُكَ وَ ذِلَّتِي لا يُعِزُّهَا إِلّا سُلْطَانُكَ وَ أُمْنِيَّتِي لا يُبَلِّغُنِيهَا إِلّا فَضْلُكَ وَ خَلَّتِي لا يَسُدُّهَا إِلّا طَوْلُكَ وَ حَاجَتِي لا يَقْضِيهَا غَيْرُكَ وَ كَرْبِي لا يُفَرِّجُهُ سِوَى رَحْمَتِكَ وَ ضُرِّي لا يَكْشِفُهُ غَيْرُ رَأْفَتِكَ وَ غُلَّتِي لا يُبَرِّدُهَا إِلّا وَصْلُكَ وَ لَوْعَتِي لا يُطْفِيهَا إِلّا لِقَاؤُكَ وَ شَوْقِي إِلَيْكَ لا يَبُلُّهُ إِلا النَّظَرُ إِلَى وَجْهِكَ وَ قَرَارِي لا يَقِرُّ دُونَ دُنُوِّي مِنْكَ،

My God, my brokenness is mended by nothing but Your gentleness and tenderness, my poverty is relieved by nothing but Your kindness and beneficence, my fear is calmed by nothing but Your security, my lowliness is raised to honour by nothing but Your authority, my wish is brought within my reach by nothing but Your bounty, my lack is filled by nothing but Your generosity, my need is fulfilled by none but You, my distress is relieved by nothing but Your mercy, my affliction is lifted by nothing but Your compassion, my burning thirst is cooled by nothing but union with You, my ardour is quenched by nothing but meeting You, my longing for You is slaked by nothing but gazing upon Your face, and I find no settled rest short of my drawing near to You.

وَ لَهْفَتِي لا يَرُدُّهَا إِلا رَوْحُكَ وَ سُقْمِي لا يَشْفِيهِ إِلا طِبُّكَ وَ غَمِّي لا يُزِيلُهُ إِلا قُرْبُكَ وَ جُرْحِي لا يُبْرِئُهُ إِلا صَفْحُكَ وَ رَيْنُ قَلْبِي لا يَجْلُوهُ إِلا عَفْوُكَ وَ وَسْوَاسُ صَدْرِي لا يُزِيحُهُ إِلا أَمْرُكَ فَيَا مُنْتَهَى أَمَلِ الْآمِلِينَ وَ يَا غَايَةَ سُؤْلِ السَّائِلِينَ وَ يَا أَقْصَى طَلِبَةِ الطَّالِبِينَ وَ يَا أَعْلَى رَغْبَةِ الرَّاغِبِينَ وَ يَا وَلِيَّ الصَّالِحِينَ وَ يَا أَمَانَ الْخَائِفِينَ وَ يَا مُجِيبَ دَعْوَةِ الْمُضْطَرِّينَ وَ يَا ذُخْرَ الْمُعْدِمِينَ وَ يَا كَنْزَ الْبَائِسِينَ وَ يَا غِيَاثَ الْمُسْتَغِيثِينَ،

My sorrow is turned back by nothing but Your solace, my sickness is healed by nothing but Your remedy, my grief is removed by nothing but Your nearness, my wound is cured by nothing but Your pardon, the rust on my heart is polished away by nothing but Your forgiveness, and the whispering in my breast is driven away by nothing but Your command. So, O Utmost Hope of the hopeful, O Final Goal of the askers' requests, O Furthest Aim of the seekers, O Highest Object of the desirous, O Guardian of the righteous, O Security of the fearful, O Answerer of the call of the distressed, O Store of the destitute, O Treasure of the wretched, O Rescuer of those who cry for rescue,

وَ يَا قَاضِيَ حَوَائِجِ الْفُقَرَاءِ وَ الْمَسَاكِينِ وَ يَا أَكْرَمَ الْأَكْرَمِينَ وَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ لَكَ تَخَضُّعِي وَ سُؤَالِي وَ إِلَيْكَ تَضَرُّعِي وَ ابْتِهَالِي أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُنِيلَنِي مِنْ رَوْحِ رِضْوَانِكَ وَ تُدِيمَ عَلَيَّ نِعَمَ امْتِنَانِكَ وَ هَا أَنَا بِبَابِ كَرَمِكَ وَاقِفٌ وَ لِنَفَحَاتِ بِرِّكَ مُتَعَرِّضٌ وَ بِحَبْلِكَ الشَّدِيدِ مُعْتَصِمٌ وَ بِعُرْوَتِكَ الْوُثْقَى مُتَمَسِّكٌ إِلَهِي ارْحَمْ عَبْدَكَ الذَّلِيلَ ذَا اللِّسَانِ الْكَلِيلِ وَ الْعَمَلِ الْقَلِيلِ وَ امْنُنْ عَلَيْهِ بِطَوْلِكَ الْجَزِيلِ وَ اكْنُفْهُ تَحْتَ ظِلِّكَ الظَّلِيلِ يَا كَرِيمُ يَا جَمِيلُ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

O Fulfiller of the needs of the poor and the needy, O Most Generous of the generous, O Most Merciful of the merciful: to You is my humility and my asking, and to You is my pleading and my imploring. I ask You to grant me some of the refreshment of Your good pleasure and to keep the blessings of Your favour upon me. Here I am, standing at the door of Your generosity, turning myself to the breezes of Your goodness, holding fast to Your strong rope and clinging to Your firmest handhold. My God, have mercy on Your lowly servant, of faltering tongue and of few deeds, grant him Your abundant bounty, and shelter him beneath Your sheltering shade. O Generous, O Beautiful, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
